Is America "Disconnected" From Its Service Members?

“We have to recognize that our returning veterans, our families, our families of the fallen, when they reintegrate back into civil society, they come back to their families, their neighbors and their communities, they don't come back to government programs.”

That's a great quote from Army Colonel David Sutherland in a San Antonio-Express News article outlining how U.S. society has a critical role to play when it comes to our returning service men and women. The title of the article incorporates "disconnected" as a way to describe what may be happening between the military and civilians as months of middle east conflicts turned into years and into a decade.
