Pick a name, pick a branch of service, it wouldn't be hard for any service member to put themselves in the boots of Joe Callan...or Jeff Hall...or countless others. Having served multiple tours, these men found coping with life, at times, unbearable. Thoughts of suicide were not uncommon. Fits of anger all too frequent. The Associated Press recounts their stories in an article detailing the increasing link between PTSD and multiple deployments to the Middle East. The breaking point is different for each service member, as is the road to recovery. It is the goal of Compass Retreat Center to make finding that road easier. |
